Improve your chances of passing drivers license test at DMV
61Success at Learner's Permit Test
Know the safe driving rules well. That is the only way to get a learner's permit or a driver's license at your state DMV. The first step is to grab a DMV license manual. You can walk into the local DMV office and pick up a manual or go to the learner's permit test information page and select your state to view and download an electronic copy. Study the entire DMV manual. Mark all the pages containing important information so that you can come back to them later. Get the following information from your DMV or from any discussion forum:
1. How many questions get asked in the DMV permit test
2. Minimum number of questions you need to answer correctly to pass
3. If you fail the written test, how long you have to wait for your next test
4. If you pass your learner's permit test, how soon you can come back for your driver's license skill test
Once you have these questions answered, you feel more informed and more confident to take on the license test. Thoroughly studying the DMV manual is a necessary, but not always the sufficient condition. Several years ago when I was taking my permit test, I studied the DMV book only and went to the test. But now, you have many sites offering free sample driving test questions and paid subscription learners permit practice test. Take advantages to those free and paid information, driving test blogs, and practice tests available to you. It makes it much easier and faster to prepare with the mock tests.
Always pay special attention to road signs and symbols. They are visually appealing and easier to remember. They form about 15% to 20% of questions in DMV test question bank and you increase your chance of answering those questions correctly by focusing on the road signs and symbols section of your state driving license test.
If you are a teen preparing for your driver's license, look for teen permit test information. Some license test prep course sites offer discounts to attract new customers. Search for those test sites and subscribe for some mock driving test courses.
On the test day, relax, feel confident and be ready. On your way to the DMV, look out for the road signs, lane markings, or traffic lights and try to remind yourself what they mean or what are the safe driving rules. You will be pleasantly surprised how easy you will find the DMV written test.
